About us
Alabama's state breastfeeding coalition
The Alabama Breastfeeding Committee brings together clinicians, public health staff, hospitals, and community partners to promote, protect, and support breastfeeding across the state.
Our mission
Our mission is to work toward the development of resources and partnerships that will lead to the effective promotion, protection, and support of breastfeeding within the State of Alabama.
Our primary audience is the professional community: International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs), nurses, physicians, dietitians, WIC staff, and doulas who provide clinical lactation care. Families remain central to everything we do, and we connect them with skilled care and trustworthy information.
Our vision
Every family in Alabama has access to skilled, respectful lactation care — in the hospital, in the clinic, at work, and at home.
